Individual Differences and Covariance Channels

This section is under construction. Coming soon: I'll include a description of the computational approach I use to infer the structure of sensory and cognitive processes (e.g. spatial channels) from individual differences in data (e.g., individual differences in contrast sensitivity functions). I'll include a discussion of the history of related factor-analytic approaches (starting with R.W. Pickford and Cyril Burt). In formulating my approach, I've been influenced by the work of a number of individuals: Don Macleod, Mike Webster, Robert Sekuler, Cynthia Owsley, Hugh Wilson, and others. My colleagues in developing the approach have included: (first and foremost) Jack Werner, Peter Kaplan, Davida Teller, Vince Billock, Robert Dougherty, John Kelly, Sue Chang, Karen Dobkins, Karen Gunther, Hans Strasburger, Concetta Morrone and David Burr.
